Youth Programming

Developing Confident, Capable, and Civically Engaged Youth

Our youth programs are designed to move students beyond passive learning and into real-world experience, leadership, and civic engagement. Through hands-on opportunities, students build confidence, develop practical skills, and begin to understand their role in shaping their communities.

More Than Programs. Pathways to Leadership.

At Bartlesville Cultural Center, youth programming is built around one core belief: students rise when they are given meaningful opportunities to lead, contribute, and be heard.

We focus on creating environments where young people are not just learning information, but applying it. Whether through workforce development or civic engagement, our programs are designed to help students see themselves as capable, confident, and essential to the future of their communities.

Workforce. Exposure. Preparation.

W.E. Pro$per

W.E. Pro$per is a workforce development initiative for youth ages 13 to 16, focused on preparing the next generation for real-world success.

Students gain early exposure to career pathways through hands-on learning, mentorship, and practical skill-building. The program emphasizes financial literacy, professional communication, responsibility, and confidence.

Rather than waiting until adulthood to explore career options, students begin developing the mindset and skills needed to navigate the workforce now.

Key Outcomes
  • Early workforce exposure
  • Financial literacy and money management
  • Professional communication skills
  • Confidence in real-world environments
  • Mentorship and guided exploration
Civic Education in Action

Kids Voting Oklahoma

Kids Voting Oklahoma is a K–12 nonpartisan civic engagement initiative designed to help students understand how government works and how they can actively participate in it.

Instead of approaching civics as a textbook subject, students engage directly with real-world concepts, learning how decisions are made at the local level and why their voice matters.

In early sessions, many students expressed that they did not believe their voice carried weight. Within hours, that shifted. Students began asking informed questions, speaking with confidence, and engaging in discussions about how their communities operate.

Students from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and socioeconomic levels often share a common belief that their voice does not matter. This program intentionally addresses that gap by creating space for students to engage, participate, and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Key Outcomes
  • Understanding of local government and civic processes
  • Increased confidence in speaking and participation
  • Critical thinking and informed decision-making
  • Real-world civic engagement experience

From Learning to Leading

Our programs are designed to complement traditional education, not replace it.

While classrooms provide foundational knowledge, our youth programming creates space for application. Students are encouraged to think critically, engage thoughtfully, and step into leadership roles in ways that feel both structured and meaningful.

This approach helps bridge the gap between education and real-world experience, preparing students not just academically, but as active participants in their communities.
