West Bartlesville Revitalization is a long-term community development initiative connecting people, place, opportunity, and investment to strengthen West Bartlesville for generations to come. This work is organized through the Bartlesville Cultural Center to ensure that revitalization remains rooted in the culture and history of the community.
How the Work Gets Done
The work of West Bartlesville Revitalization follows a clear, structured approach. It is grounded in four core focus areas and shaped by what residents, businesses, and partners share. This is ongoing, coordinated work that moves from ideas into action and evolves as the community responds.

Focus on building partnerships, aligning stakeholders, and sustaining the work over time.

Focus on supporting small businesses, attracting investment, and creating pathways for entrepreneurship.

Focus on improving the physical environment while preserving the character and history of the corridor.

Focus on activating the district through events, storytelling, and experiences that bring people into the corridor.
This approach keeps the work aligned and moving forward, allowing progress to build in a way that reflects both the vision and the people connected to it.

Why BCC Is Leading This Work
BCC’s work is rooted in preserving culture, strengthening community, and expanding access to opportunity. West Bartlesville Revitalization extends that mission beyond the walls of the Cultural Center and into the neighborhoods and commercial corridor surrounding it.
Culture is not preserved only through exhibits and programs. It is also preserved when families can remain in their neighborhoods, locally owned businesses can grow, property remains connected to the community, and investment strengthens rather than erases what already exists.

is how that mission moves into the built environment.
West Bartlesville Revitalization is moving beyond identifying needs and into building the structure necessary to address them. The work brings community priorities together with property, development, investment, public resources, and partnerships to move projects from ideas toward implementation.
Housing & Neighborhoods
Expanding housing options, supporting homeownership, improving existing neighborhoods, and creating opportunities for new residential development.
Business & Economic Development
Supporting locally owned businesses, creating pathways for entrepreneurs, attracting new businesses, and strengthening commercial activity along the corridor.
Land & Development
Working with property owners, developers, public partners, and investors to activate underused property while protecting long-term community interests.
Placemaking & Community Infrastructure
Creating public spaces, cultural amenities, streetscape improvements, and community destinations that strengthen the identity and experience of West Bartlesville.
